Great tips Rain, your informative post about virtual assistant mistakes are very useful. I can make it as my guide before I hire a virtual assistant. I’m planning to hire a virtual assistant but I don’t where to start it is my first time to hire one. I’m having trouble with my business there are so many things to do and some of my friend’s advice me to hire a virtual assistant that can help me with tasks and improve business productivity. I also found out that a Philippines based virtual assistant cost usually around $4 per hour. I must agree. In the corporate world around 5 % – 20% of total corporate profits are spent on training and development. In the Virtual Assistant Business, one must appropriate a certain percentage of income for skills upgrading and training as well. Remember, this time, competition is stiffer and the playing field is wider.

Agree with you on that! Communication is critical! And if you are smart about communicating your mistakes, you can even turn the situation to your favor and wow your customer. Here’s one I actually use ….

“I have no excuses and I take full responsibility for my action. I’m sorry. While I cannot undo what has already happened, I am committed to making sure it does not happen again. To prevent further recurrence, I’ve already mapped out a checklist that I will use every time we have a similar project. Attached please find the said checklist. Do let me know your feedback. Once again, my apologies.” – Shows … you take full responsibility. you want to go reactive – to proactive via checklist. you are a process focused VA! Clients always appreciate it.
